Faluröd

Faluröd is a color that is widely used throughout Scandinavia. The color can be traced all the way back to the 1500s.  The name refers to the copper mines in Falun. The color pigment in the paint is obtained from copper sludge taken from the mines, which contributed to a cheap paint at this time. Other components of the copper sludge also helped to prevent rot on the wood.
